Defining Your Solvable Problem®

As we talked about, this journey isn’t about rushing to the finish line, it’s about taking it slow, being thoughtful, and actually enjoying the process. Like any meaningful path, we have to start at the beginning: defining your Solvable Problem®.
This framework is like turning on the lights in a dark room. It helps us figure out where you’re starting, where you want to go, what you truly value, and whether your actions are lining up with those goals. That first step is what we call Clarity: a foundational piece for making better decisions and figuring out the 1-2 next steps that will move the needle in your life.
This is our first real attempt to paint a picture of the life you want to create. It’s about defining your Floor, the baseline you’re willing to accept. For example, the minimum income you’d be okay with in 2025.
By identifying your Floor, we start to get a clear sense of the resources you already have and what’s realistic to achieve from here.
Now, I know that might sound like a lot to process all at once. Take a deep breath, you’ve got this, and we’ve got you! This isn’t a test, there’s no “right or wrong” answer here.
The key is micro-stepping. If you don’t have all the answers right now, that’s totally fine. The goal isn’t perfection, it’s progress.
So here’s the deal: give yourself permission to take your time with this. Be honest with yourself. Explore these questions with curiosity, not judgment.
This is about designing a life you actually want, not one you feel obligated to chase.
Let’s make it happen, together.

Defining the Floor in the 8 Dimensions of Balance
Locking in your Floor isn’t just about your finances. It’s about setting a baseline for all the areas that make your life fulfilling. Think of it as defining the minimum you’d need to do in each dimension to feel balanced and stay on track. By setting these Floors, you can ensure that the essentials in your life are covered, leaving you with unlimited upside to grow.
Here’s how to approach it for each dimension:
1. Family
What’s the bare minimum you’d need to feel connected to your loved ones? Maybe it’s being present in Thanksgiving dinner, Christmas with family, it’s your call. The key is defining what works for you.
2. Spirituality
How will you nurture your inner world? It could be as simple as committing to start practicing gratitude, or meditating at least 3 times a week, or going to a spiritual event this year.
3. Friends
What’s the Floor for maintaining your social connections and keep building your closest friendships?
4. Hobbies
What’s one thing you’ll do just for fun? Example: pick up an old passion you’ve set aside.
5. Health
Set a clear, achievable Floor for your physical well-being. Example: do exercise 3 times a week, play a sport at least twice a week, loose 5 pounds, etc.
6. Finances
Define the minimum financial performance you need to cover your basic needs and keep your current lifestyle.
7. Mission
What’s the impact you want to make this year? Who and how do you want to impact?
8. Joy
What’s one thing that will bring you pure joy and a sense of adventure?
How to Use This
The goal isn’t to shoot for the stars in every area, it’s to lock in a baseline that ensures balance across your life.
Once you have your Floors in place, you can focus on growth without sacrificing what matters most. Write these down, keep them somewhere visible, and revisit them often.
When life gets chaotic, these Floors are your safety net to keep you grounded.
